Elma EVSE-100 Type 2 Adapter activates the charging socket by simulating the connection of an electric vehicle, and brings all electrical measurement points out to standard banana sockets.
Communication between the EVSE-100 and the charging socket is carried out with a slider that allows the simulation of CP stages as well as errors.
The charging socket (EVSE) and the electric vehicle (EV) communicate via a frequency modulated signal. The Elma EVSE-100 requests a charging current of 20 A, but the charging socket may allow a different charging current, which is expressed in the PP signal, and can be read with a standard multimeter with DutyCycle Hz% function, or with the groundbreaking Elma 6100EVSE, which directly displays the signal as a current.
If Elma EVSE-100 is used together with an installation tester, it is possible to carry out a complete final check of the EVSE installation, including testing of residual current protection, phase sequence, and continuity of the protective conductor.
Elma EVSE-100 is delivered ready to use and can be used with installation testers from Elma Instruments.
